Overview

Adobe Creative Cloud provides you access to a suite of professional applications for photography, graphic design, video/image editing, web development, and more. Certain courses at Bellevue University require Creative Cloud software as part of your coursework.

• If you are enrolled in a course or program with Creative Cloud access as part of the Bellevue University Course Materials program, you will be granted access to Creative Cloud applications for the duration of your course or program.  Review the Course Materials site for more information about the Course Materials program.
If you opted out of the Course Materials program, you are required to purchase Creative Cloud on your own.

Check with your student coach to confirm eligibility for the Creative Cloud solution for your course.

Installing Adobe applications is a three-step process which includes the download and installation of the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop application, logging into Creative Cloud, and installing the Creative Cloud applications required for your course such as Photoshop or InDesign.

Installation Checklist

Identify which Adobe applications to install: Refer to your course’s Course Materials module for a listing of Creative Cloud applications required for the course.
Ensure your system meets the recommended (not just minimum) requirements. Adobe’s Creative Cloud software is designed to run exclusively on Windows or Macintosh computers.  For detailed system requirements, please visit Creative Cloud Desktop application and other Creative Cloud applications.
Ensure you have a stable internet connection.
Ensure you have administrative rights before installation. Personal computers usually have these by default; for work computers, contact your IT department if needed
Have your Bellevue University credentials ready.
Restart your computer before installation.

Installation Instructions

Step 1 - Install Creative Cloud Desktop Application

1. Go to https://www.adobe.com/download/creative-cloud
2. Select “Download Creative Cloud”
3. Follow the on-screen prompts to run the installer
4. Wait for the Creative Cloud Desktop App installation to complete

Step 2 - Access Creative Cloud

For Course Materials Program Students:

1. Open the Creative Cloud desktop application.
2. On the Creative Cloud Sign In window, enter your Bellevue University email address.
3. On the Bruin Connect window, enter your username (Student ID number) and Bruin Connect password. Then select "Sign In."

If you have problems logging in, contact the Bruin Support Services for assistance.

For Non-Course Materials Program Students:

If you opted out of the Course Materials program, you will need to purchase Creative Cloud access on your own. Adobe offers several purchasing options for students:

Bellevue University Bookstore - Creative Cloud subscriptions are available for purchase through the university bookstore. Visit the bookstore in person or online at https://www.bkstr.com/bellevuestore/home.
Adobe Education Store - Purchase directly from Adobe's website where student discounts may be available for various Creative Cloud plans.
Other Adobe Authorized Retailers - Creative Cloud subscriptions may also be available through other authorized retailers.

Note: Be sure to verify which specific Creative Cloud applications are required for your course(s) before deciding which plan to purchase.

During the purchase process (whether online or in-store), you will be prompted to create an Adobe ID if you don't already have one. This typically involves:

Providing your email address
Creating a password
Entering your name and other required information

If purchasing through a retail store or the campus bookstore, you will receive a redemption code that you'll need to redeem at Adobe.com, which will prompt you to create or sign in with an Adobe ID.

Once you've purchased your subscription from any of these sources, return to the Creative Cloud desktop application and sign in with your Adobe ID to continue with Step 3.

Step 3 - Install Adobe Creative Cloud Applications

Refer to your course’s Course Materials module for information on which Creative Cloud applications to install.

1. Make sure that the Creative Cloud desktop application is open, and you are logged into your account (refer to the steps listed above).
2. Select the All-Apps tab at the top of the window, identify the application required for your course, and select Install.
3. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation.
4. On successful installation, the Creative Cloud desktop application launches at the same time as your newly installed Creative Cloud application.
5. To install additional applications, select Install for the application in the Creative Cloud desktop app.

Refer to Download Creative Cloud Apps documentation for additional information.

Creative Cloud FAQs

What is the difference between Adobe Creative Cloud, Creative Cloud Desktop app, and Creative Cloud applications?

The Creative Cloud ecosystem consists of three main components:

Adobe Creative Cloud: This is the overall service that provides access to the creative software suite and associated cloud services.
Creative Cloud Desktop app: This is a management application that you install on your computer. It handles user logins, manages your Adobe account, and allows you to install and update individual Creative Cloud applications.
Creative Cloud applications: These are the individual software programs like Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, and others that you can install and use for specific creative tasks.

Access Eligibility:

If you are enrolled in a course with Creative Cloud access as part of the Bellevue University Course Materials program, you will be granted access to Creative Cloud applications for the duration of your course.
If you opted out of the Course Materials program, you are required to purchase Creative Cloud on your own.
Check with your student coach to confirm eligibility.

Access Duration:

If you received access to Creative Cloud as part of the Course Materials program, your access remains active throughout the course duration. Students in the Graphic Design program will retain continuous access throughout completing Graphic Design courses. Once you are no longer enrolled in a course or program providing Creative Cloud as part of the Course Materials program, your university license will expire. You may continue using Adobe Creative Cloud products by purchasing a personal subscription.
If you purchased Creative Cloud outside of the Course Materials program, it is up to you to cancel your personal subscription.
If you receive an incomplete grade for your course, your Creative Cloud access will be extended until the incomplete grade is resolved.

Migrate your files before your student access ends:

All cloud-stored Creative Cloud files and projects will become inaccessible when your university-provided access ends unless you transfer them to a personal account or download them to your device.

Download synced files using Adobe's documentation.  This process allows you to save all cloud-stored Creative Cloud assets to your personal computer.
Set up a personal Adobe ID account by following Adobe's account creation instructions.  Begin this process at least two weeks before your access expires to provide enough time for the transition.

Managing a Personal and a Bellevue University Adobe Account:

Note that your Bellevue University Adobe account is separate from a personal Adobe account.
Before logging into a Bellevue University provided account, we strongly recommend downloading any cloud stored files from your Personal Adobe account, so you do not lose access to your Personal Adobe files.

Remove Creative Cloud Applications:

Follow these instructions when you are ready to un-install any Creative Cloud applications.
Follow these instructions when you are ready to un-install Creative Cloud desktop application.

How many devices can I download and use Adobe Creative Cloud on:

You can install Creative Cloud apps on multiple devices, but you can only sign into two devices at a time and actively use only one at a time.
For more detailed information please visit Can I install my Adobe App on another Computer?

What devices and operating systems do I need to run Creative Cloud:

Adobe’s Creative Cloud software is designed to run exclusively on Windows or Macintosh computers.  For detailed system requirements, please visit Creative Cloud desktop application and other Creative Cloud applications
