Learning Modalities

Bellevue University offers three ways to learn to help students like you earn valuable degrees and credentials in a way that accounts for your life—work, family and other personal obligations. All class formats include leading learning program design, and incorporate meaningful, relevant assignments with due dates, and stimulating interaction with fellow students and instructors.

Anytime Online Icon

Anytime Online

These classes are 100% online, on your own time within the set class term. Each week, you find the time that is most convenient for you to get your work completed on time for that week. While there are set start and end dates for each class and regular coursework due dates within each class, there are no regularly scheduled class times, so you have the most flexibility to fit school into your life.

On Campus

These classes take place entirely in a physical classroom on our campus. You can plan your life with consistent, scheduled class times.

This class format is an additional hybrid option with students joining online and some students joining from an on-campus or remote classroom.

Additional Points

  • All four of these "ways to learn" will involve opportunities for you to interact virtually in real time and on your own schedule with other students and instructors. The difference is whether a certain type of interaction will be expected and required in your course.
  • You may already know how you want to learn, but you should talk with your Admissions Counselor or your dedicated Student Coach to make sure you understand what's involved with each option and how you can be successful.
  • Not every course may be available in every format. While the University tries to provide as much flexibility as possible, you should talk with your Admissions Counselor or your dedicated Student Coach to plan your program and your schedule each term.
  • No matter which way you choose to learn, you'll use technology hardware and software. Check the technology requirements and talk to your Admissions Counselor or your dedicated Student Coach for more information.
  • All students, even On Campus students, will use Blackboard as part of their classes. Blackboard is a learning management system or platform where you'll login to access important course information, turn in assignments and in some cases, communicate with your fellow students and instructors.
