How we calculate a credit (of tuition and fees only)
The following schedule will be used to calculate credits of tuition and fees for all students who drop or withdraw from class(es). You may find it necessary to drop or withdraw from the University before the end of a term or class. Withdrawals could impact your student account, financial aid, tuition assistance, and veteran benefit status.
- Calculations are based upon the official start of the term/program (usually a Monday) and not the first day of class. The withdrawal refund schedule uses a pro-rata refund up to 60% of the enrollment period.
- The date that you start the withdrawal process and drop class(es) is the official withdrawal date for the class(es), and will be used to calculate the percentage of time you were enrolled in the term and the percentage of tuition and applicable fees you are charged (Course Material Fee is credited off at 100% refund prior to or during the drop/add period. It is not pro-rated).
- The calculation will use the total number of calendar days you attended divided by the total number of calendar days of the enrollment period (minus authorized breaks of five days or more).
If you withdraw after the 60 percent point in the enrollment period, there is no tuition or fee refund; you are responsible for the full amount.
