Internet Browser Support

The purpose of this support article is to provide guidance on browser updating, configuration, and troubleshooting.

SUPPORTED BROWSERS

The most recent version of Chrome or Firefox is recommended.  While Safari and Microsoft Edge may be suitable for some coursework, they may not provide an optimal course experience.  Refer to the Bellevue University’s Technical Requirements page for additional information.

SUGGESTED BROWSER SETTINGS

It's essential to configure your browser settings correctly to access university websites and online services. Here are some recommended settings:

      Security Settings: Set security levels to medium or higher to protect against potential security threats while browsing.

      Pop-up Windows: Disable pop-up blockers for University websites to access important notifications and resources.

      Cookies: Enable cookies to allow for personalized browsing experiences and access to certain university platforms.

      Ad-Blockers: Disable Ad-Blockers to access functionality within University websites and platforms. For example: Adopt guides within Blackboard. This may be done from your browser's extension management options, or from within the browser settings.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Below are common troubleshooting options when experiencing technical issues with university websites.

      Clear Browser Cache: Clearing your browser cache may resolve many browsing issues by removing outdated or corrupted files stored in your browser.

      Disable Extensions/Add-ons: Temporarily disable browser extensions to identify if any third-party add-ons are causing compatibility issues.
