Master of Science in Health Care Administration

The College of Professional Studies at Bellevue University offers a Master of Science in Health Care Administration.
The purpose of the degree program is to develop within each student a specific set of competencies deemed critical for contributing to the viability and growth of organizations within the health care industry. The competencies are reflective of knowledge, skill, ability, and sensitivity identified from a qualitative analysis of interviews conducted with experienced health care professionals as desirable for ensuring a successful career within a chaotic and increasingly ambiguous industry.
Program Characteristics (42 hours)
- 3 credit hour capstone project
- Completed in 18 months, followed by a 3 credit hour internship
- Adult-learner model; case-based and solution-oriented; journalized reflection on skills development
- Accelerated cohort format
- Complete 12-16 hours per week outside of classroom in course-related activities
Curriculum
Term One
Term 1 has an academic structure administered by Bellevue University and applicants must
satisfy University admission requirements before entering into Term 1. However, the
University does not charge tuition in the first academic term and there is no adverse
academic consequence if a student does not complete Term 1. Entering Term Two and completing
the subsequent terms is dependent upon a student successfully completing the academic
requirements of Term 1.
Term 1 academic texts are purchased from an independent source,
The College Network, at a
cost of $2,295. This cost is not tuition. After completing Term 1, students receive a bill
from Bellevue University in the amount of $360. This fee is an administrative fee for
assessing Term 1 activities.
