Transcript FAQs
Find clear answers to common questions about ordering, accessing, and verifying Bellevue University transcripts.
What is an electronic transcript?
An electronic transcript is a secure PDF version of your academic record, delivered by email. You order it just like a paper transcript, but instead of providing a mailing address, you’ll enter the recipient’s email. The recipient then receives instructions to securely access it.
What will the electronic transcript look like?
The electronic transcript looks identical to the official paper version.
Is an electronic transcript real?
The electronic transcript is an official, digitally certified document verified by GeoTrust to confirm it originated from Bellevue University. Any attempt to alter the file will render it invalid.
How do I open an electronic transcript?
- Open the secure email sent to you and click the provided link.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to request a one-time passcode (sent to your email).
- Enter the passcode to download your digitally signed PDF transcript.
What if I am having problems accessing my E-transcript?
Some browsers restrict downloads for security reasons. Ensure your browser allows file downloads.
Also, if you are using a Mac, the default PDF viewer (Mac Preview) will not open a certified PDF. You will need to download the latest free PDF Reader from Adobe.
Some browsers have set their PDF viewer as the default, which will prevent you from downloading an e-transcript or any other secured document in PDF format. In order to view the e-transcripts in the following browsers please complete the steps:
Chrome
- Open Chrome.
- Type chrome://plugins
- Click Disable under Chrome PDF Viewer.
- Click Enable under Adobe Reader.
Firefox
- Open Firefox.
- Click Firefox, then Options, then Applications.
- Click Portable Document Format (PDF).
- Under Action, change the default viewer from Preview in Firefox to Adobe Reader.
How does the recipient know the transcript is authentic?
All official Bellevue University electronic transcripts are digitally signed and certified by GeoTrust CA for Adobe®. When opened in Adobe Reader (version 6.0 or higher), a blue ribbon icon appears, confirming:
- The document is authentic and unaltered.
- It was issued by Bellevue University.
If no valid certification appears—or if you see “Author Unknown”—make sure you’re connected to the internet or contact Bellevue University for verification.
How do I find out my student ID?
Your student ID number appears on your student or alumni card and in the Self Service section of your student portal. If you need help, contact BRUIN Support at 1.800.756.7920.
Do I need to fax or send in a paper request to begin my order?
No. Transcript requests must be submitted online through Bellevue University’s secure transcript service. No fax, email, or in-person submissions are required.
Can I print my digital transcript?
It is not permissible to replicate this document or forward it to any person or organization other than the identified recipient. Release of this record or disclosure of its contents to any third party without the written consent of the record owner is prohibited.
Can I have a paper transcript order expedited?
Yes. Express shipping is available for an additional cost. For details, contact Bellevue University at 1.800.756.7920.
Can I send additional documents (e.g. Cover Letters, Resumes) with an electronic transcript?
Yes, documents such as cover letters, resumes, etc., can be included at the time of transcript request and the recipient will receive the official electronic transcript along with any supporting documents.
