Bellevue University sponsors 14 varsity sports, which consistently compete for conference titles and are routinely ranked among the best in the nation in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). Men's and women's sports and one co-ed sports team are listed below. Athletic scholarships are offered in each of these sports. Bellevue University has a proud tradition of excellence and support for Bruin Athletics. Our sports teams have enjoyed tremendous success both on and off the field.

Bellevue University Athletics
Led by Athletic Director Ed Lehotak, the department consists of more than 20 full-time head and assistant coaches, numerous part-time coaches, three full-time athletic trainers, two full-time sports information staffers, and two administrative office staffers.
Over 200 student-athletes compete at Bellevue University. Our rosters include athletes who represent every region of the U.S. as well as numerous foreign countries.

Conference champs and tournament results

Bellevue University is a full member of the Frontier Conference and holds affiliate membership in the Continental Athletic Conference. During the 2024-25 season, six teams and two athletes qualified for the NAIA National Tournament. Highlights include our baseball, volleyball, men’s soccer, and women’s golf teams finishing in the top 25 nationally, with volleyball earning NAIA National Runner-Up honors and men’s soccer reaching the quarterfinals, finishing with a No. 7 national ranking. Our Esports program has a pair of teams – Overwatch 2 and Apex Legends – ranked in the top 10 nationally and is Nebraska’s leading program since 2017.
In the last 10 years, Bellevue University has appeared in 53 national championships, 70 conference championships, and has had 15 individuals qualify for national championships. Bellevue Univeristy has been home to 92 (last 10 years) or (227 all-time) NAIA All-Americans.
