Generative artificial intelligence (AI) is radically transforming the global workplace. This course prepares students for an evolving employment landscape by exploring the applications of AI and adjacent skills in job searching and various industries, the workforce impacts of AI, and the ethical implications of AI in the workplace. In this course, students will explore the transformative field of Generative AI, with a particular focus on ChatGPT and other advanced language models. Through a combination of theoretical knowledge and practical hands-on experience, participants will gain a deep understanding of how these models work, their applications, and how to leverage them for various tasks.
This course equips students with practical skills in prompt engineering - the art and science of effectively communicating with Generative AI systems to achieve desired outcomes. Through weekly hands-on exercises and a final project, students will develop real-world applicable skills for leveraging Generative AI tools across various personal and professional contexts. The course emphasizes learning through practice that builds competency in crafting precise prompts, controlling Generative AI outputs, and implementing ethical guidelines. Students will also explore responsible use principles and security considerations when integrating Generative AI into workflows. Students will leave the class with immediately applicable skills that enhance productivity and problem-solving capabilities in any field where Generative AI is utilized.
