Excellence in Innovation Award
The Award
- The award is given once each academic year, subject to qualified nominees.
- The award is announced at the All-Campus meeting in June, with the recipient receiving a $2,000 prize.
Eligibility
- All faculty/staff actively employed at Bellevue University during the 2024-2025 Academic Year.
- Recipients may be re-eligible for the award three academic years after receiving the award.
- No self-nominations allowed.
- Nominations must be received by May 30, 2025.
Criteria
The award recognizes faculty/staff innovation that has a positive impact on the University and/or student learning. The innovation may be evident in programs or processes, in courses and classrooms (both online and in-class), or in faculty, student or staff support services. Innovation, for the purposes of this award, is defined as the introduction of a new technique/structure/idea/technology that addresses a specific problem or issue and has a demonstrative positive impact. The award takes into account the following criteria:
- The issue/problem being addressed by innovation.
- The demonstrated measured impact of the innovation.
- The ability to apply the innovation to other areas of the University.
Nomination Procedure
Any Bellevue University faculty and staff member may nominate a Bellevue University employee (no self-nominations allowed). Submit nominations for this award via electronic mail or in a sealed envelope labeled Excellence In Innovation Award to the president. Nominations must be received on or before 5:00 p.m. on May 30, 2025 to be eligible. The nomination must contain a statement in support of the nominee.
Announcement and Disbursement
The recipient will be announced at the All-Campus meeting in June. The funds will be disbursed on or after July 1st.
