Outreach Services

Purpose
The purpose of Outreach Services is to send library materials to those currently affiliated with Bellevue University. For a small fee, items may be sent to your home, business address, or forwarded to the Lozier Center (120th and Miami) for pick up.

Eligible Users
Outreach Services are available to current Bellevue University students, faculty and staff, alumni, and community users.

Information to include: Name, 8-digit ID number, e-mail address, materials requested, and mailing address.

Materials that can be Requested and Notification
Bellevue University Library books, DVDs, and videos as well as interlibrary loan (ILL) materials may be sent through this service. 15 items may be checked out to a student library account at any one time. Once en route, the patron will be notified as to what material has been sent and if/when they are to be returned.

Fees
Faculty and Staff requests – no charge
Bellevue University Library items delivered to Lozier – no charge
ILL books delivered to Lozier - $1.00 for each item
Bellevue University Library items sent UPS - an additional $1.00 charge for each item
ILL articles e-mailed - $1.00 for each article
ILL books sent UPS - $2.00 for each book
Articles faxed locally - $1.00 per fax
Articles faxed long distance - $1.00 per page
Articles faxed internationally - $3.00 per page

Loan Periods
DVDs, videos, and other media – may be renewed once for another 7 day loan period
Bellevue University Library books for campus or Lozier Center students, alumni, and community users – 21 days
Bellevue University Library books for online students or those who attend at a satellite location – 28 days
Bellevue University Library books for current staff and faculty – 60 days
ILL books or media – loan period determined by the lending library; usually 21-30 days

Renewals
DVDs, videos, and other media – may be renewed for one 7-day period
Bellevue University Library books – a maximum of two renewal requests may be honored unless there is a hold on the item.
ILL books – Lending libraries determine if requests for renewal will be granted. Up to two renewal requests per item will be made and should be initiated by the patron at least four days before the due date.

Returning Materials
Materials may be returned in person in the Library, placed in the campus book drops, left at the Lozier Center front desk, or sent to the address below at least three business days before the material is due. If mailed, a shipping service with tracking is required.
