Your resume and cover letters had one underlying goal--to get you an interview. Once you get the interview, you must be prepared to take full advantage of this face-to-face opportunity to show why you are the best candidate for the job. This is never an easy task, but careful thought and preparation can reduce the anxiety and stress to a manageable level and thus enable you to present yourself and your qualifications in the best possible light.
Career Services has now added InterviewStream to the services it offers. InterviewStream is a web-based interview practice system that allows Bellevue University students and alumni to complete mock job interviews. All that is needed to use this tool is internet access and a webcam.* Users must also have the latest version of Adobe Flash Player. You can download the latest version here.
Users of InterviewStream can create a customized interview from an available bank of interview questions or choose from an existing interview in their career field. Responses to questions are recorded. You can review your practice interview and receive feedback from the Career Services by emailing us at email@example.com. Users also receive a link to their completed interview that can be emailed to anyone they would like to have offer feedback.
Students and alums can access InterviewStream by logging on to BRUIN from the Bellevue University website or current students can enter through Blackboard.
If you are not able to access InterviewStream through the BRUIN system, please contact Career Services at (402) 557-7423 for alternate access.
*Local students who do not have a web cam can arrange an appointment to use the computer and web cam located in Career Services by emailing or calling (402) 557-7423. An appointment is necessary to ensure the equipment is available at a time when you can come in.
This handout contains helpful tips and suggestions to get you started. A list of typical interview questions is also included. Be sure to review these and take some time to practice your responses before your interview. For additional guidance or assistance, stop in or call Career Services.
