The Peer Tutoring labs are located in Room 522 of the Learning Center
Building on the main campus. For general questions about our tutor
services, please call (800) 756-7920, ext. 3748.
Peer tutoring for all levels is
available to Bellevue University students free of charge for the following
areas:
- Writing Lab (On campus and online
7 days a week)
- Math Lab / Stats (On campus and
online Monday through Friday)
- Accounting (On campus and online Monday through Friday)
- Computers (On campus and online Monday through Friday)
Peer tutors are carefully selected based on their academic record,
command of the subject, recommendations by faculty, and communication
skills. They are highly committed and share their enthusiasm for learning
with fellow students while seeking ways to use their skills and talents to
help other students learn. Tutors are trained, supervised and evaluated by
the Academic Tutor Manager.
We are dedicated to providing tutor assistance not only to students at
our main campus, but also to our customers abroad. If you have any questions
or need help that is not addressed in any of the above links, please call us
at (800) 756-7920, ext. 3748, or
e-mail us.
Use the Tutoring Labs
wisely!
Purpose:
The purpose of the tutoring program is to help students who have made
an attempt to understand their academic subject through proper classroom
attendance and personal effort.
Policy:
Tutors cannot fill in for the time you have missed in a classroom
environment. In order for the tutor/student relationship to properly work
the student is expected to work on the material of concern and be prepared prior to
the tutoring appointment. Tutors cannot do the homework or assist with take-home tests
for the students.
Scheduling:
The tutoring department can assist students on a daily basis. This is
accomplished by providing students the opportunity to sign-up for either
a thirty minute or one hour session. It is imperative that students who cannot make their scheduled
appointments contact the tutoring office at least two hours prior to
their scheduled appointment to cancel. Please be advised that students
failing to cancel appointments two (2) hours prior to their scheduled
session or after missing two (2) tutoring sessions will be subjected to
a two week suspension of tutoring services.
* Due to the ethical standards we must maintain as a testing center,
we cannot provide tutoring to assist with the DANTES and/or CLEP test.
Important Notices:
Good Advice: Don't plan on doing everything close to test days for those are our busiest
times. For best results, keep up with your work and seek tutor support on a
frequent and regular basis.
