Bellevue University
Hosts Exclusive Seminar
Military experts and business and academic leaders came together this fall on the campus of Bellevue University to discuss how best to combat terrorism nationwide, as well as in their own workplaces.
Bellevue University is a leader in higher education in the field of security management, which includes homeland security. It is also an integral part of an initiative created by USSTRATCOM (located on Offutt Air Force Base) called Partnership to Defeat Terrorism (PTDT).
The partnership began when those at USSTRATCOM began reaching out to businesses and universities that worked on a global scale, like Bellevue University. With the main campus of Bellevue University only five minutes from Offutt, Bellevue University is in a unique position to not only serve as a partner in this endeavor, but also as a leader in bringing other businesses and universities to the program.
Among the speakers at the fall conference were U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Darryl Williams, Director of PTDT; Greg Hollingsead, Protective Security Advisor with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Omaha District; James Bogner, Director of Transportation Security Administration, Nebraska District; and Nebraska Lt. Governor Rick Sheehy, who oversees the state’s homeland security efforts.
