Bellevue University in the Community
As part of undergraduate programs at Bellevue University, students complete the Kirkpatrick Signature Series. Designed to offer an awareness and appreciation for the vision and values of American society, students participate in volunteering as part of the 9-credit hour series.
This requirement allows students to choose their community involvement, and many students are able to give back in ways that complement their degree program, hobbies and other interests. To date, this volunteerism has accounted for 126,789 hours of service from students in their communities across the nation.
In 2008, The Center for American Vision and Values was founded at the university by Dr. Edward A. Rauchut and Dr. Clif Mason to further the commitment to these ideals. This center is an educational and research institute, dedicated to the exploration and promulgation of ideas and beliefs that have contributed to American exceptionalism.
Recently, Bellevue University was recognized to the 2008 President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll as a result of the volunteerism through the series. Bellevue University is proud foster this contribution of service, and to instill the need for community involvement in every undergraduate student.
