CAMPUS ALERT

Bellevue University Tops U.S. News Rankings

Social media lecture set for Oct. 19

Social media expert Bryan Jennewein will be on the main Bellevue University campus as part of the College of Business Speaker Series on Wednesday, Oct. 19 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. The event will be held in the symposium room of the new Administrative Services Building.

"Bryan is a capable professional with experience using and consulting in social media and his talk should have relevance to a variety of stakeholders, i.e., faculty, all of us as consumers and users of the new technology and products," said Professor Doug Brown, who helped arrange Jennewein's appearance. "Take-aways should be greater insight into the subject and as Bryan notes: 'sharing the history and current state of the social media enterprise, and the tools you'll need to find your place in it – from the social media fluencies needed to be a team player, to the social expertise needed to be the catalyst for change'."

Jennewein is the product owner for the Radian6 (a salesforce.com company) Insights Platform and product manager for the Radian6 Dashboard. Bryan spent six years with Infogroup (formerly InfoUSA) in a variety of roles, including most recently as their Sr. Social Media Product Manager and Director of Social Media Marketing. In addition to these roles, and consulting with businesses large and small on social strategy and campaigning, Bryan also actively speaks and publishes on social media. When he's not indulging in all things social, he can be found making people scream and sweat at local gyms, where he actively teaches four of the Les Mills fitness programs, helping people live healthy lives.

The lecture is free and open to the public.
