Slade selected student commencement speaker

Bruin baseball player Tuckett Slade has been selected as the student commencement speaker for Bellevue University's spring commencement ceremony on June 6, 2009. The name of his commencement speech is “Take Action.”

A senior from Salt Lake City, Utah, Slade will graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in physical education and sports studies. Slade was nominated by the College of Arts and Sciences’ faculty and was then chosen by a vote of the entire Bellevue University faculty.

Primarily used as a pinch hitter, Slade leads the 2009 Bruins with a .477 batting average. He helped lead Bellevue to the 2009 Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference regular season and tournament titles. Slade was also MCAC Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
