Bellevue University Students Attend Psych Convention
Dr. Roxanne Sullivan, Jackie Milos, Itzel Bahena, Airasol Bustamante, Kat Hughes, Brittney McDonald, and Dr. Cleve Evans
Bellevue University student Airasol Bustamante earned a second-place award at the Great Plains Students' Psychology Convention held at Creighton University, March 15-16, 2013. Bustamante presented her paper The Influence of Gender on Shame and Guilt for Sexting Practices.
"It's a frontier kind of topic. There isn't a lot of research out there," said Roxanne Sullivan, Psychology Professor at Bellevue University. "She did wonderfully both with her presentation and in answering questions afterward."
Bellevue students Jackie Milos, Itzel Bahena, Kat Hughes and Brittany McDonald also presented papers at the conference with Bellevue University faculty members Sullivan and Dr. Cleve Evans in attendance. The students presented the research they conducted for PY 354-Experimental Psychology during Winter Term 2012/13. In addition to the presenters, there were nine other BU students who attended the convention. There were a total of 144 presentations and over 350 students and faculty attended the convention from Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, and Oklahoma.
"Bellevue's participation was exceptional," Sullivan said. "They all gave great presentations. They had a very good experience interacting with other students and enjoyed themselves."
