Cornerstone Program Cohort
The Cornerstone Program was designed by veterans for veterans to bridge the transition between active duty and a purposeful civilian life. This program is exclusive to active military and veteran students, provides coursework, and a community of peers to help smoothly integrate into academic and professional environments.
VET 210 Personal Growth and Change Management
This course will assist the individual leaving the military to find a way to translate the knowledge and skills acquired in the military to establish and develop a career path in the civilian workplace.
VET 212 Communicating in a Digital World
Practical application of WEB fundamentals, online meetings, social networks, digital research, information creation, online collaboration, privacy and digital security.
VET 208 Critical Thinking and Communication
Models and theories veterans will use to develop and apply critical thinking skills in work, social and personal life.
VET 220 Ethics and Leadership in Democracy
Build connective bridges between experience and ethics in leadership to deepen and broaden understanding and application in practical civilian settings.
VET 101 Comprehension and Expression
Instruction in the principles of written communication and practice in writing cohesive, clear communications.
VET 203 Communication and Mass Media
Presents case studies focused on ethics in the media involving competencies in the areas of critical thinking, innovation, adaptability and ethics.
VET 230 Civil Society, Social Change, and the Market
Learning about the transformations that have taken place with the market and civil society in reaction to social change.
VET 102 Communication and Expression
The expression in written essays incorporating other people’s ideas. Study involves summary, critique and synthesis.
VET 235 Wellbeing and Money Management
Identification of the elements of Wellbeing. Discovery of areas of improvement to apply strategies to live a well-balanced life. Application of money management in wellbeing.
