Ways of Earning Credit
Bellevue University recognizes that learning happens in a variety of venues. They offer
flexible credit transfer options from many of these sources of learning:
- Transfer credit from other accredited institutions
- Associate's degree from a community college – Regardless of what Associate's degree you earn, all of the credits in your degree
are welcome and accepted at Bellevue University.
- Credit by examination – Including CLEP and DSST
- Military credits and training
- Experiential Learning Assessment – Bellevue university students may earn academic credit for experiential learning they have acquired through work, training, outside activities, and other life experiences. Through Bellevue University's ELA Program, students may earn undergraduate, degree-related credits when standardized tests or other methods of evaluation are not available. The ELA program follows the standards of the council for Adult and Experiential Learning(CAEL), which are approved and accepted by the higher learning commission.

Bellevue University offers clusters of general education courses which can be applied to the General Education core requirements or as elective credits of degree requirements.
