Selected for a Scholarship

Notification of Scholarships Awards

Students who have been awarded a scholarship will be notified via email on the specified notification dates listed on the scholarships page. Those who were not selected will not receive an email. Students can check the status of scholarships applied for anytime by logging into their scholarship application.

Accepting Scholarship Awards

Upon selection of a scholarship award, students should follow the instructions listed on the individual scholarship award letters to determine how to fully accept their award. This may include one or more of the following items to be submitted:

  • A typed donor thank you letter
  • A current photo
  • A signed acknowledgement/acceptance form

Disclaimer: Bellevue University Scholarships and/or Grants may be impacted or adjusted based on the other types of aid awarded to the student. For more information, please contact your Student Financial Counselor to discuss these potential impacts.

Posting of Scholarship Awards

Students that are selected for scholarships will see their scholarship awards listed in BRUIN 2-3 weeks after notification letters have been sent. This information can be seen in the Student's Service Center under the Financial Aid tab.

If the scholarship is from a source outside of the university, posting of these awards will not occur until the check has been received at Bellevue University. Students need to be sure to follow up with any external organizations that have selected and awarded them a scholarship to ensure the check has been sent and subsequently received at the University.

Disbursing of Scholarship Awards

Disbursement of scholarship awards occur in the same way that other forms of financial aid are disbursed. Students can expect that disbursement of awards to their account to occur 10-14 days after the start of the term and after verification of attendance in classes has taken place. If a student does not see an award disburse after this time, please contact the Scholarship & Grants Program Office at

Payment of Awards

Most forms of financial aid are paid either by a credit to the student's account or by a check made payable to the student. Since checks may not be released until tuition and fees are paid, the student should remember to make prior arrangements so that tuition and fees can be paid in a timely fashion.
