Welcome to the 2008 Nebraska Psychological Society/Association for Psychological and Educational Research in Kansas Joint Convention! |
|
This year the NPS/PERK Joint Convention is being hosted by Bellevue University. This is the first time Bellevue University has hosted this event and we are honored to do so. We will begin the convention on Friday, October 24, 2008 with Teaching and Student Pre-Conferences. On Saturday, October 25, 2008, students from Nebraska, Kansas, and surrounding states will be presenting their research on a wide spectrum of topics.
We are honored to have two keynote speakers this year. Dr. Janet Carlson (University of Nebraska-Lincoln), President-Elect of the Society for the Teaching of Psychology will be our keynote for the Teaching Pre-Conference on Friday. Our keynote speaker on Saturday will be Dr. Ronald Thompson, Director of the Boys Town National Research Institute.
The convention events will be held in the Dennis Learning Center, the Educational Services Building, the Humanities Building, and the Durham Student Center on the Bellevue University home campus. All buildings are handicapped accessible and non-smoking. Smoking is only allowed in designated areas. There are several parking lots on campus that provide easy access to the above mentioned buildings. Parking permits are not required on campus.
If you need assistance or information at any time before or during the convention, please feel free to contact me. Students from Bellevue will be available throughout the convention to help where needed. They will be wearing name tags with purple and gold ribbons.
Welcome to Bellevue University!
