This comprehensive degree provides basic competence in key areas of non-governmental, nonprofit organization management, including an application-based understanding of those strategies necessary to create and enhance organizational sustainability. You will also gain a solid understanding of how to identify philanthropic networks and grant revenue generation, financial management, strategic and project-based management, and how the regulatory environment influences the design, structure and operation of the non-governmental, nonprofit organization. Learning Outcomes

With the Bellevue University Bachelor of Science in Nonprofit Management, you will synthesize your goals of making your mark in the nonprofit world with the latest and most-relevant business methodologies to move into a leadership role within this rigorous, yet rewarding field. You’ll learn core principles of the strategic planning process as they apply to the analysis and development of intermediate and long-range planning for a non-governmental nonprofit organization. You’ll also develop and refine best practices for revenue generation as it applies to the non-profit sector through grants, contracts and philanthropic efforts. Financial reporting and monitoring functions are examined through the application of accounting principles particular to the non-profit world. Graduates of the Bachelor of Science in Non-profit Management will be able to do the following:

  • Identify, analyze and apply various revenue generating strategies for the nonprofit organization including grant writing and fundraising and other philanthropic efforts to support long-term fiscal sustainability
  • Inventory the distinctive organizational, operational and financial aspects of a nonprofit organization particularly as they relate to the implementation of day-to-day and long-term management strategies
  • Apply optimal managerial practices to maximize the functionality of Boards and volunteers in nonprofit organizations
  • Illustrate the unique legal and regulatory environment bearing upon the accounting, reporting and management practices of nonprofit organizations
