About the Management of Human Resources Degree Program

This degree program in Management of Human Resources is designed to provide a foundation of the professional skills needed to become a successful global business manager. Coursework emphasizes the management of human capital and the mastery of knowledge and skills associated with human resource planning and analysis; Equal Employment Opportunity compliance; staffing; human resource development; compensation; benefits; and employee and labor/management relations. This program prepares students for the Professional in Human Resource (PHR) Certification examination.

The Management of Human Resources program contains four core courses and four courses which concentrate heavily in the field of study.

The first two courses of the core (Business Capitalism Core) provide skill development in the areas of advanced business communication, team building, social networking tools and developing applied business decision making skills including computer-based and data analysis skills.

The last two courses of the core (Management Capitalism Core) focus upon business principles and areas common to all-cohort based business programs including accounting, the legal and regulatory environment of business, finance, human resources, ethics and marketing. Developing strong competency in courses three and four set the stage for specific and intensive study in the students' major area.

Prerequisites for the College of Business' Management of Human Resources Accelerated Cohort Bachelor's Degree Completion Program

Bellevue University's College of Business offers Accelerated Bachelor's Degree Completion Programs for working adult students, those with past employment history or those with significant volunteer experience who have completed an associate's degree or a minimum of 60 semester hours of transferable credit from regionally accredited institutions of higher education.

The accelerated nature of the degree presumes that students have organizational life experiences that can be applied to their studies. This allows for application-based instructor to student interaction and a student's contribution to peer-to-peer learning.

Prior to beginning the cohort-based major, you need to:

  • Possess an associate's degree, or 60 semester hours completed with a grade of "C-" or higher from an accredited institution of higher learning. Please submit official
  • Be currently employed, have a past employment history or have significant volunteer experience (such as serving on a not-for-profit Board of Directors or serving as an officer of a volunteer organization for a period of years) where the academic content of the major can be applied; and
  • Submit an Application for Admission, completed, signed, and accompanied by the $50 processing fee
