Human Services Degree - Master of Arts
Our nation needs leaders who are passionate about their communities, and who strive to make a positive impact in the challenging, yet rewarding field of human services. The Master of Arts in Human Services provide an introduction to the variety of functions that are required of leaders in the human services arena, including an emphasis in non-profit and administration management, and is designed to enhance your personal communication and guidance skills. This degree is designed for individuals already employed in the human services field or planning a career in the human services profession. This is a non-licensure degree and is not intended for those seeking mental health licensure or the practice of mental health counseling. Integrating hands-on, applied learning with theory, all Bellevue University degrees are designed to deliver a transformative learning experience that is flexible to accommodate your personal and work life.
With the Bellevue University Master of Arts in Human Services, you will develop and refine a high-caliber skillset that is immediately applicable in your current position. Our degree will provide you with an in-depth understanding of the theoretical and practical ethical standards for working with individuals in a variety of human service settings, and you’ll feel confident in your ability to evaluate empirical reports, and set your evidence into practice. You will learn how to efficiently and effectively integrate insights from counseling theories to clinical applications commonly encountered in human services roles, and you will build a comprehensive understanding of the nature and needs of persons at all developmental levels and in multicultural contexts. After successful completion of the Master of Arts in Human Services program, you will be able to do the following:
- Apply basic elements of project management for non-profit organizations
- Assess compliance and regulatory issues applicable to non-profit organizations
- Devise a “professional identity” as a non-profit administrator
- Assess funding strategies and their impact on non-profit organizations
