The approved “regalia” consists of a black cap, a black gown for both men and
women, and a tassel. Graduates receiving master’s degrees wear a Master’s hood.
Undergraduates meeting the criteria also will wear honor sashes.

Graduates who wish to wear items other than the approved regalia must have those
items approved by the full Board of Directors of Bellevue University. Requests in writing to the Provost must be made 60 days prior to the commencement ceremony. Students who fail to comply with standards for regalia will not be allowed to participate in commencement exercises.

WHEN AND WHERE DO I MEASURE FOR CAP AND GOWN?
Bellevue University is pleased to provide a cap and tassel for you to keep and rents a gown and hood (if applicable) for all graduation candidates who are participating in the commencement ceremony. The rental gowns are pressed, delivered on hangers, and must be returned after the ceremony. Graduates can measure for cap and gown at the following locations, no appointments are necessary.

You can order your cap and gown online using the "Commencement Ceremony Reservation Form" found in BRUIN, e-Services.

WHAT IS THE DEADLINE FOR CAP AND GOWN ORDERS?
The deadline for ordering a cap and gown is Friday, April 11, 2008. We will begin to process all orders on the deadline date. It is your responsibility to be measured on one of the dates stated above or to fill out a Commencement Ceremony Reservation Form by Friday, April 11, 2008.

Graduates are not permitted to participate in the ceremony without a cap and gown.

If you do not place your order (reserve your spot in the ceremony)before the deadline date, there will be a $50.00 late fee. Graduates also have the option of participating in the January 31, 2009 Winter Commencement Ceremony rather than joining late and paying the fee.

For those living outside the Metro Area, your cap and gown will be available at the Civic Auditorium on the day of commencement, Saturday, June 7, 2008.

All caps and gowns that are not picked up by Thursday evening (June) will be available at the Omaha Civic Auditorium when you arrive at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2008.

If you pick up your cap and gown and are unable to attend the commencement ceremony, please return the gown, honor sash, and/or hood to the Dean of Academic Services Office in the Learning Center Building, Rm. 586, so you will not be charged for it and your diploma can be released. The cap and tassel is yours to keep.
